United States: If Iran returns to full compliance with the nuclear agreement, we will take the same
The White House announced that Iran's return to full compliance with the nuclear deal would bring the United States back into the agreement.
In response to journalists questions about Biden's position toward returning to negotiations with Iran, White House spokeswoman Jane Psaki said that the president's position remains the same as it was previously, that is, if Iran returns to full compliance with its obligations under the nuclear deal, the United States will do the same thing. And it will use this as a platform to reach a bigger and stronger agreement to deal with other issues of concern.
She confirmed that Washington would do this in cooperation with partners in the International Six-Party Committee, which agreed with Tehran on the nuclear deal in 2015.
It is noteworthy that Iran abandoned some of its obligations under the nuclear agreement and returned to enriching uranium and operating centrifuges, in response to the re-imposition of US sanctions on the Islamic Republic following the withdrawal of the administration of former US President Donald Trump from the agreement signed under Barack Obama.
After Joe Biden won the presidential elections in the United States, Washington talked about the possibility of returning to the implementation of the agreement, but indicated the need for Tehran to return to implement its obligations first, and talked about the need to discuss other files related to Iran, including Tehran's ballistic missile program.
