Ukraine: The Foreign Ministry reacted to the statements of the Israeli Ambassador

This is how the representative of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reacted to the words of the Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Joel Lyon, who condemned the decision of the Ternopil City Council to name the local stadium after the Hero of Ukraine, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army Roman Shukhevych.

Preserving the national memory of the Ukrainian people remains one of the priorities of Ukraine's state policy. Discussions in this area should be held at the level of historians. At the same time, diplomats should work to strengthen relations of friendship and mutual respect between peoples, and not vice versa.

At the session of the Ternopil City Council on March 5, a decision was made to name the city stadium Ternopil City Stadium named after Roman Shukhevych.


This decision was condemned by the Ambassador of Israel to Ukraine Joel Lyon.
