Turkey bans ads on Twitter, Periscope and Pinterest
The Turkish Information and Communications Technology Authority imposed a ban on ads on Twitter, Periscope and Pinterest under a new social media law, according to decisions published in the country's official gazette on Tuesday. The law requires social media companies to appoint local representatives in Turkey. Critics say the law will silence dissent. On Monday, Facebook joined other companies in saying that it will appoint a representative.
