Trump: We must work toward complete denuclearization of North Korea
US President Donald Trump, at the International Atomic Energy Agency and IAEA General Assembly on the 21st said ,that North Korea should continue its efforts toward'final and fully verified denuclearization (FFVD).
In a message sent to the General Assembly that day, President Trump cited Iran and North Korea as the countries that needed to respond, saying, The nations around the world must maintain and strengthen their nuclear non-proliferation regime. We must keep working towards North Korea's FFVD.
The U.S. initially proposed `complete, verifiable and irreversible abolition (CVID) as the goal of North Korea's denuclearization, but after the first US-North Korea summit in Singapore in 2018, North Korea rejected CVID as a phrase that will appear in surrender documents''. When revealed, the expression was replaced with FFVD.
US Energy Minister Dan Brelet also said, in a video speech that day, the United States is ready to make progress toward North Korea's FFVD. We urge you to secure the future.
