The U.S. military's top secret uncovered drone is reported for the first time
It has been nearly 7 years since it was first reported that the U.S. secretly developed the new RQ-180 unmanned reconnaissance aircraft and it is believed that the aircraft has been flying under the veil of mystery for 10 years. However, there are very few public information about RQ-180. The outside world does not know what it looks like. Even the U.S. Air Force has never officially recognized the number of RQ-180, but this top-secret spy-hidden drone has been first reported.
According to a report by Forbes on the 1st Novrmber, in early October, a batwing drone that fits the description of RQ-180 appeared at the high altitude of Edwards Air Force Base in California in broad daylight with twin engines. Leaving a long white track in the sky.
Photographer Rob Kolinsky took at least one clear picture of this mysterious plane. He posted a photo on Instagram on October 1st and wrote, this thing flew over my house a few weeks ago. I haven't figured out what it is.
In 2013, the US Aviation Weekly first reported this drone developed by Northrop Grumman. The journal assessed that the photos currently appearing on the Internet roughly match the characteristics of the RQ-180 drone.
Aviation Weekly pointed out that RQ-180 has fully exerted its combat power performing long-distance intelligence collection, reconnaissance and launching electronic attacks for the U.S. Air Force replacing the RQ-4 Global Hawk with no concealment capability. In view of the world The high end opponents of RQ have made great progress in anti-entry/area denial capabilities. The RQ-180 has the characteristics of long-range, concealment, and high altitude, allowing it to survive and conduct reconnaissance in the most heavily defended airspace.
On September 1st, The National Interest magazine published a report titled Good luck, China. The U.S. Air Force RQ-180 stealth drone is flying to Asia. The Anderson Air Force Base deployed on Guam will play an important role in the future military confrontation between the United States and China.
