The South Bohemian governor will be Cuba, other places in the council are clear
In the South Bohemian Region, four groups agreed to form a coalition on Tuesday. The CSSD and the South Bohemian Movement 2012 joined the ODS and Together for Southern Bohemia (KDU-ČSL and TOP09). Their representatives confirmed this when signing the memorandum. On Wednesday, the parties announced further details on the staffing of the council.
The ODS, which, like the winning YES, won 12 seats, should get the post of governor for Martin Kuba. The coalition would have 29 seats in the 55-member council.
The name of the first deputy is already known. This post is to be filled by František Talíř (KDU-ČSL). "We agreed on two names with the ODS on the basis of a memorandum. In addition to the joint candidate for governor, we nominated for the position of first deputy. We will discuss the remaining cast, "added František Talíř.
Martin Kuba has also announced the division of positions and responsibilities in the regional council. Three seats will be won by ODS, CSSD and KDU-CSL with TOP 09, while South Bohemian 2012 will have two. There will be six paid positions, one less than in the last election period.
Lucie Kozlová from České Budějovice and Tomáš Hajdušek from Prague will also represent the ODS on the Council. One post will be released and the other unreleased. The former will focus on social affairs, IT, science and research. Hajdušek will take care of finance, economy and investment.
First Deputy Minister Talíř will be in charge of tourism, regional development or the environment. Regional representative and pedagogue Pavel Klíma (TOP 09) will focus on education, sports and public procurement.
It is also certain that the mayor of Větřní and the hitherto vacant councilor Antonín Krák (ČSSD) will be on the council, who will take care of transport and transport services or the administration of regional property. The current deputy Pavel Hroch (Jihočeš 2012) remains agriculture, culture, countryside and monument care.
The remaining members of the council should be Miroslav Joch and Olga Bastlová, Jan Bartošek from KDU DU-ČSL and Jiří Fišer for the South Bohemian Movement 2012 on behalf of the CSSD.
Kuba said, We are currently fine-tuning our program priorities. The negotiations showed that there is no problem.
According to him, the subjects could sign the coalition agreement next week.
František Talíř, the leader of the Together for South Bohemia said on Tuesday after the first round of negotiations, I am personally speaking with the cooperation of the classic democratic parties. That's why we passed this candidate and for the same reason I get the right connection with the ODS. In addition to regional politics, we also work with the prospect of parliamentary elections.
Martin Kuba will replace Ivana Stráska (ČSSD) as governor.
Stráská said, social democracy in this center-right government has its own logic. We think that every thing should have a social dimension, so we welcomed the opportunity in the coalition to be and continue to promote its program, which emphasizes functional and public health, social services and education.
According to her, she was a supporter of a broad coalition. However, the number of pages gradually narrowed. Social democracy has somewhat withdrawn before the choice of whether or not it will be with the project. I wanted to be able to continue what we have been doing here for 12 years. It can be a coalition that lasts four years and does a lot of work.
The winning YES, Pirates and also STAN end in opposition. Their representatives were still negotiating on Tuesday and trying to turn the situation around to form a coalition, but this did not happen in the end.
Pirates and YES both offered the post of President Ivana Stráská (ČSSD) during the negotiations, who has held this position since 2017. Nevertheless, the Social Democrats have leaned elsewhere for the time being.
The connection of the ODS with TOP 09 and the People's Party is logical. But I admit that it is a surprise to me that the President is joining this coalition. We offered the CSSD the post of governor. In my opinion, it would be interesting for them and I believe that they would hold the position well. It's a bit of a mystery to me, commented the development of YES leader František Konečný and pointed out that the signed memorandum does not mean that the coalition is ready.
