The Ministry of Education and the EESC sign a framework agreement
The Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) signed on Wednesday in Rabat a framework partnership agreement aimed at developing exchanges of experiences and data and to mutually benefit from studies in the economic, social, environmental and common interest fields.
Under this convention, signed by the Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Government Spokesman, Saaid Amzazi, the Deputy Minister in charge of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Driss Ouaouicha, the President of the EESC, Ahmed Reda Chami and the President of the Conference of University Presidents (CPU), Azzeddine El Midaoui, cooperation between the parties will focus on mobilizing scientific and professional potential Moroccan universities and the EESC, in carrying out joint study and research programs and projects on issues falling within the competence of the Council.
This agreement also intends to support university scientific research on economic, social and environmental issues that the Council places among its priorities, as well as to study them in coordination with the centers, laboratories and specialized research units within the various university institutions. and this according to specific implementation programs.
The agreement also provides for encouraging the sharing of experiences between the Council and Moroccan universities, through mutual recourse to the scientific, professional and associative expertise and resources at their disposal, according to specific mechanisms agreed between the parties.
This agreement includes a set of measures relating to communication, the exchange of data and information to develop the body of documents, as well as the implementation of the agreement. Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Amzazi indicated that this convention aims to harness the scientific and professional energies of Moroccan universities, for the implementation of joint study and research programs and projects on economic, social and environmental.
The government official estimated that this framework convention will be an opportunity for the council and the ministry to set up programs able to define mechanisms for the sharing of experiences and the development of subjects of study and research. According to him, this is an opportunity to motivate and further encourage researchers, professors and doctoral students to take an interest in economic, social and environmental issues.
Mr. Chami said, that this convention illustrates the mutual wills and common objectives that the Council aspires to achieve, stressing that in accordance with its new strategic vision, the EESC considers universities as a fundamental partner in its missions of advising the government, parliament and public authorities.
He believes that the university is an essential link in the value chain that the council aims to establish in cooperation with its institutional partners, the scientific community, civil society and all stakeholders, able to put Moroccan knowledge and experiences at the center of the economic, social and environmental decision-making process in Morocco. To this end, he noted that this agreement aims to mobilize the collective intelligence of the academic and scientific skills of the Moroccan university.
Mr. Ouaouicha noted that this convention will set up a framework of partnership and cooperation for the research of subjects of common interest, particularly in the fields of economics, social studies, environmental issues and African studies.
The Minister Delegate added that it would open up to the EESC the possibility of benefiting from the experience and expertise of Moroccan universities in their entirety, continuing that it would also allow the university and the ministry to benefit from the Council's publications. and the richness of its proposals.
