The Green Morocco Plan Achieves 89% Of Its Objectives For 2020

The Plan Maroc Vert agricultural strategy has achieved almost all of its objectives for 2020.

Despite the new coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and water stress, Moroccan agriculture has managed to carry out 989 projects, within the framework of Pillar II of the Green Morocco Plan, thus reaching 89% of its objectives for the year 2020.

In 2020, some 989 projects were launched - 89% of the Green Morocco Plan target for 2020 - benefiting 730,000 beneficiaries (94% of the 2020 target). The budget allocated to date by the state for these projects has reached 14.5 billion dirhams, reports Le Matin. Pillar II projects are technically feasible, economically viable and socially appropriate projects with local support for farmers in fragile areas (mountains, oases, plains and semi-arid plateaus).

Thus, as the Agricultural Development Agency ( ADA ) indicates, the approach adopted is based on direct intervention by the State in a framework of partnership with the beneficiaries and is based on an effective mode of governance based on on a procedures manual and a prioritization manual. This approach will have enabled, according to the ADA, a rebalancing of production systems between large and small farms with a view in particular to increasing and stabilizing the incomes of small producers.

As a reminder, the ADA intends to reorganize the data relating to the various solidarity agriculture projects, due to the importance of this segment. For this, the agency has mandated the company GloteMar for the collection, updating and integration of this data at a cost of the service of 1.62 million DH, underlines the same source.
