The Congress of Judges of Ukraine elected Inna Plakhtiy a member of the GRP


 

The XVIII Congress of Judges of Ukraine elected Inna Plakhtiy, a judge of the Lutsk City District Court of the Volyn Region, a member of the High Council of Justice for a term of 4 years. This was reported by a Ukrinform correspondent. Thus, according to the results of the vote count during the second secret ballot, the candidacy of the judge of the Lutsk City District Court of the Volyn region Inna Plakhtiy was supported by 159 delegates of the congress. At the same time, 110 delegates voted for Judge of the Vinnytsia Court of Appeal Oleksandr Panasyuk.


Bohdan Monich, the chairman of the congress, announced, i am announcing the decision to elect Inna Borysivna Plakhtia a member of the High Council of Justice for a term of 4 years.


After the announcement of the voting results, Plakhtiy took the oath of office as a member of the High Council of Justice. Thus, the XVIII Congress of Judges of Ukraine elected four members of the High Council of Justice: three on March 9 and one on March 10.

As Ukrinform reported, on March 9, 2021, the XVIII Congress of Judges of Ukraine elected three of the four required members of the High Council of Justice for a term of four years. According to the results of the vote count, Vitaliy Salikhov, a judge of the Kyiv Court of Appeal, was elected a member of the GRP. 148 votes).


As you know, on March 15, 2021, the powers of members of the GRP, who were elected under the quota of the XVI Extraordinary Congress of Judges of Ukraine, which took place on March 15, 2017, expire. The 18th Congress of Judges of Ukraine is being held in Kyiv at the President Hotel and will take place on March 9-11.


The issues of election of members of the High Council of Justice, election of the Council of Judges of Ukraine (RSU), and appointment of a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine were submitted for discussion at the Congress.


In addition, it is planned to hear the report of the RSU on the implementation of tasks of judicial self-government to ensure the independence of courts and judges , the state of organizational and financial support of courts and information of the head of the State Judicial Administration on its activities, including organizational, financial and logistical support authorities.
