Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Tesla and Mercado Libre are among the 100 companies that won the most with the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic after the population resorted to teleworking or online shopping, according to a list published by the Financial Times newspaper. At the head is the purchase company for the Amazon network which is in first place with a market value of $ 401.1 billion (increased by 43.8%) as it is the first resource for citizens to access essential products.
Amazon is followed by Microsoft, from the technology sector, with a market value of $ 269.9 billion (plus 22.9%) after 75 million people used their Teams communication application in just one day in April, as way to continue their work through telework. In third place was the technology firm Apple with a market value of $ 219.1 billion (plus 16.8%), which achieved an increase in its sales through the network despite being forced to close shops due to the measures of confinement imposed on the world by the Covid-19 pandemic.
This company is followed by the American Tesla in fourth place with a market value of $ 108.4 billion (more 143.8%) and leader in the design manufacture and sale of electric cars, as well as large scale domestic batteries. The Chinese company Tencent was placed in fifth place with a value of 93,000 million dollars (plus 20.3%) increasing its turnover by 31% for online games while Facebook ranked sixth with a value of $ 85.7 billion (plus 14.6%) , as its turnover increased due to the increase in advertising.
Rounding out the top 10 spots 7th Nvidia with $ 83.3 billion (plus 57.8%) , 8th Alphabet with $ 68.1 billion (plus 7.4%), 9th PayPal with $ 65.4 billion (plus 51.5%) and 10th T-Mobile US with $ 59.7 billion (plus 89.0%).
In the list, an Argentine company appears. This is Mercado Libre in 37th place with a market value of $ 18.1 billion (increased by 63.6% ). The record for growth in the top 100 is held by International Holdings which grew by 408.7% and is now trading at $ 12.6 billion .
