Tamil Language Addition in the Academic Qualification for the Study of Archeology


 

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Archaeological College is functioning in Greater Noida , Uttar Pradesh on behalf of the Archaeological Survey of India. There was an announcement for a 2-year postgraduate course in archeology. The notice stated that the Tamil language was ignored and that only those with a master's degree in Indian history, anthropology and Sanskrit, Pali and Arabic could apply.


Since the announcement, various parties, including Tamil language activists and Tamil Nadu political leaders, have strongly condemned the move. DMK leader Stalin criticized the planned cultural invasion of the Tamil language. Many accused the central government of continuing to discriminate against the Tamil language.


Following this, Chief Minister Palanisamy yesterday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Modi requesting him to include the Tamil language in the qualification for the Diploma in Archeology, in order to highlight the classical status of the Tamil language and its ancient history.


In this context, the Central Government today announced the inclusion of classical Tamil in the Central Archaeological Department's charter course. The announcement by the central government has been welcomed by various quarters.


In this context, DMK leader MK Stalin has welcomed the inclusion of Tamil language in the educational qualification for Central Archeology. In this connection, MK Stalin said in his Twitter post


Tamil language was deliberately neglected in the qualification for the degree course of the Central Archaeological Department. Tamil has been incorporated after strong condemnation. Welcome. Languages ​​are the cultural foundations of diversity! Don’t follow the stepmother mentality anymore.
