Stationers and refineries await a definition for these days regarding the update of fuel prices that the sector estimated would be made official last weekend. In this context, the secretary of the Chamber of Fuel Entrepreneurs, Raúl Castellano warned that everything indicates that the price of fuel is going to increase and he pointed out that the estimate is that the increase would take place in the next few days.
Cafiero commented the leader of one of the groups of service stations, we are waiting for what may happen. Everything indicates that the price of fuel is going to increase because it has been delayed after 8 months of freezing and also taking into account the statements of different government officials such as the Chief of Staff ( Santiago Cafiero ), the Minister of Economy and others, nobody he has denied it. They have said that it is being analyzed, there is a table even on the subject. If we take the refining margin, the cost of what it costs to produce fuels, we see a delay of 8% in diesel and 13% in gasoline, Added Castellano. Nobody has given dates but surely it will not be many days before it happens.

In dialogue with El Uncover Radio, the stationer emphasized the commercial situation of the sector.
He said, the sale floor was in April. Then it has recovered and at the moment we are 35 to 40% down in the sale. He also pointed out we are at 65% of the usual sale. This is catastrophic for service stations because they work with little margin and depend on volume and he concluded that the drop is to a greater extent due to the decrease in circulation of private cars.
The oil companies expected this weekend to see an increase of between 7% and 10% in fuel prices at pumps, but the government's analysis was extended.
The Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero said, like other products, we started to look at the cost structure it was having and we started a study process. What will happen to gasoline is not yet defined, but as with any other important product of the economy, we want to see it and if a correction is necessary, we will do it but first we want to have this study completed, which is making a structure cost.
Yesterday, the Minister of Productive Development Matías Kulfas said on Radio Rivadavia that the increase was not defined. It will be seen in the coming weeks if any rectification is made and pointed out that cost situations must be analyzed both at the stations and at the oil companies.
If we take the refining margin, the cost of what it costs to produce fuels, we see a delay of 8% in diesel and 13% in gasoline. The increase sought by the sector would be the first of the Government of Alberto Fernández which maintains the last modification to the price decided by his predecessor, Mauricio Macri.
With the price freeze that has been held since December, the price of premium gasoline in the city of Buenos Aires exceeds $ 61.00 and that of the super is around $ 53, with a high tax component that reaches about 50% of the retail price. The modification of fuel prices generates tensions within the Government with the oil company YPF and its peers in need of rebuilding prices and officials concerned about the effect that an increase may have on other goods and services, as a second round effect on inflation.
