South Korea asks North Korea for another investigation into the death of the official shot dead

South Korea will ask North Korea for another investigation into the death of the South Korean official shot dead by agents from the neighboring country when entering its waters after having found discrepancies with the North Korean explanation, according to the Government transferred this Saturday.

After the meeting of the National Security Council late on Friday, the South Korean government has decided to request a further investigation of what happened and jointly if necessary, as reported by the South Korean Presidency, Cheong Wa Dae, and the agency of Yonhap news.

He said, as there are differences between North Korea's explanation and our intelligence analysis, we decided to continue our investigation into the incident to learn the truth.

The Presidential Office has also pledged to take swift action to further increase surveillance action in the Yellow Sea to prevent such an incident from happening again.

South Korea said on Friday that it has received an apology from the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, for the death of the South Korean official. The North Korean leader has sent a message to his South Korean namesake in which he assures that he is very sorry to disappoint him and the rest of South Koreans with this case.

According to the North Korean version, its troops found the South Korean official while patrolling its western maritime border and shot ten times and then burned the floating material in which he was traveling, not his body as the South Korean intelligence version had previously indicated.

North Korea has also assured that it will take measures so that what happened is not repeated. The official disappeared earlier in the week during a patrol and South Korea publicly blamed North Korea for killing him.
