Richard Swing case: Óscar Vásquez resigned as Martín Vizcarra's advisor
Óscar Vásquez one of those investigated in the Richard Swing case resigned as communications advisor to President Martín Vizcarra , Justice Minister Ana Neyra confirmed today.
Neyra reported in an interview with Channel N, Mr. Óscar Vásquez has submitted his resignation and it has been accepted. This departure is part of the restructuring of the presidential office staff.
Vásquez is investigated by the supreme prosecutor Bersabeth Revilla, who in her indictment indicates that the former official was in charge of hiring lawyers for the composer Richard Cisneros and the former assistant Karem Roca by order of the president himself. In one of the recorded audios that Vizcarra stars in, Roca is heard commenting on the role of the communicator, and the president did not refute the claims.
Vizcarra annoyed, I give you my word that I am leaving today. And who is going to help me financially with the lawyer? Exclaimed Roca during the recording. And who is helping you now? Replied the head of state. You and Oscar, said the then assistant. So what difference does it make? I don't understand.
In another recording, Roca tells Cisneros that Vásquez had contacted a lawyer from Estudio Jo to coordinate with the superior prosecutor Marco Villalta and he would contact "the corrupt prosecutor who would see the case. According to the former official, Vásquez would be in charge with that lawyer to "turn everything around" the process that had already complicated Vizcarra.
Lawyer Daniel Jo Villalobos acknowledged in the Fourth Power of Attorney that his advice to Karem Roca was planned, but this was not materialized due to a family decision of the investigated woman. Although Revilla opens the investigation when the superior prosecutor Villalta is involved, he outlines a hypothesis that has the president as the man who pulls the strings to cover the investigation.
Óscar Vásquez, commissioned by Martín Vizcarra Cornejo, hired Daniel Jo for his law firm to provide advice to Richard Cisneros and Karem Roca, points out the provision that Peru agreed21 .
