Philippine House of Representatives requested an investigation of the Chinese survey vessel
Newspaper Philippine Daily Inquirer dated 2.2 reported MPs in the House of the Philippines requested the investigation on a survey ship of China has appeared in the country's waters.
Before that, the Chinese survey vessel Gia Canh appeared in the waters east of the Philippines and left on February 1. The ship also infiltrated the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of the Philippines on the northern island of Luzon in September.
According to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the Gia Canh survey vessel was granted diplomatic permission to shelter in the Bay of Cabugao near the province of Catanduanes, where the ship was anchored since January 29. PCG said it was closely monitoring the ship.

The survey vessel above entered the Philippine EEZ on January 25. PCG said that this force immediately dispatched the ship to board the Gia Canh ship. But the boat captain Gia Canh refused to reason about the medical regulations. Hence the PCG requested verification documents.
Documents show that the Gia Canh vessel is the ship for marine scientific research of China. On January 30, the Philippine Foreign Ministry informed the PCG that the Chinese ship requested shelter due to bad weather and rough seas.
When the ship left at 6 o'clock on February 1, PCG sent the aircraft over when it left Philippine waters. However, the local maritime officials questioned because the Gia Canh ship's offer to shelter had been made despite the bad weather. Maritime law expert Jay Batongbacal said that the Philippines should pay attention to the presence of the survey vessel, because China has not yet explained about the previous visits to Philippine territorial waters.
