Pakistan: Protest by teachers on wage hike continues in Muzaffarabad
Hundreds of teachers in Muzaffarabad city of Pakistan have been continuously protesting demanding wage hike and the country is already suffering from Covid-19. In such a situation, this protest has also intensified. In such a situation, this demonstration can become very difficult for the government here.
The protesters have threatened to boycott election work in the country. Taking to the streets during the protest urged the government to fulfill its demands. A protestor has said that this is our primary right. We want a salary increase. He threatened that the government would face a lot of difficulty if their demands were not met.
Threatening the consequences of Imran Khan's government, another protestor said that we will not only close schools but block roads. Will boycott all government duties, including teaching, block work, election work, board work.
The third protester said, we will not resume our duties until we get the rights. This is not an illegal demand. Let the protesters shout slogans for the increment during the demonstration. During this time the police charged sticks and used water cannon as well as Asu gas shells to disperse the protesters.
