Pakistan launches first electric train
From the city of Lahore, Pakistan opened the country's first electric train on last Sunday in Lahore which is the capital of Punjab East of Pakistan. The route or Orange Line spans approximately 27 kilometers and has more than 20 stations along the way. It costs approximately 300 billion rupees of Pakistan for the project and parts which comes from China. The project comes under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project under the Belt and Road strategic plan.
New China TV preliminary government estimates that there will be 250,000 people per day for the travel system, however the construction project has been completed several years late. Both the protest problem and arguments of many parties that the archaeological sites in Lahore will be affected the project.
