Yonhap news agency of South Korea quoted information from the Ministry of Unification said today (October 8).

North Korea tends to celebrate major events every 5 or 10 years. This weekend's celebrations attract special attention, as North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced in his New Year's message that he will soon reveal "a new strategic weapon", to show emptiness. is pleased with the meager progress in nuclear talks with the United States.

According to Reuters, international observers will also closely monitor how North Korea conducts the celebration to find out the message Kim Jong Un wants to send to the public at home and outside countries.

Analysts predict much of the event will focus on domestic issues. However, there are also many speculations that Kim Jong Un used the parade to demonstrate North Korea's military might. In previous parades North Korea has often introduced new, untested missiles.
