NATO Days without spectators will begin in Mošnov

The two day NATO Days in Ostrava and the Czech Air Force Days, which are the largest security show in Europe will begin today at the airport in Mošnov in the Novojičín region. However, due to the covid-19 pandemic, this year's event, which was attended by 220,000 people last year, will take an unusual shape. It will take place without viewers, who will be able to watch the four-hour program every day on television or on the Internet.

On both days of the event in Mošnov, a total of 1,000 rescuers and members of the security forces will be awarded for their deployment during an emergency. One of the most attractive demonstrations this year will be demonstrated by the German Air Force Airbus A400M Atlas transport aircraft, which will simulate refueling in flight with a pair of Czech Gripen aircraft.

After last year's success, the world champion in the Red Bull Air Race Martin Šonka and the pilot of the Gripen fighter Ivo Kardoš will return, who will present a joint show in which both machines fly at a distance of a few meters. After last year's successful premiere, spectators will also see a unique mass jump of members of the 43rd Airborne Battalion of the Czech Army and the Polish special unit AGAT. Not only over the Mošnov airport, but also over Prague and Pilsen today, people will see the flight of an American strategic bomber B-52 or five F-16 fighters in a joint formation.

The organizers do not recommend that people go to watch air demonstrations around the airport. Nevertheless, the police are preparing for the fact that some people will go to the airport, for example, they will prevent the spontaneous entry of cars into places where they could hinder traffic. Some roads in the area will be closed and access to some plots will also be restricted.
