On January 11, Chinese media reported that President Xi Jinping congratulated North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on his election as the General Secretary of the Labor Party. Mr. Kim was elected on January 10, taking over the title from his deceased father. China is North Korea's largest trading partner and closest ally. The Xinhua News Agency quoted Xi as saying, North Korea, under Kim's leadership, can achieve its socio-economic development goals and greater success in social development, Assemblyism. Meanwhile, the North Korean press reported that Xi expressed his desire to protect peace and stability, development and prosperity of the region, while at the same time bringing happiness to the two countries and people of both countries by increasing strong ties. North Korea's KCNA news agency reported on 12th, the message emphasizes that this is a steadfast policy of the Chinese party and government to successfully protect, consolidate and develop China-North Korea relations.
