The commissioner of the National Migration Institute (INM), Francisco Garduño Yáñez, held a meeting with representatives of the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP for its acronym in English), to whom he requested dignified attention for all Mexicans who are repatriated. across this border.
At the meeting, held at the facilities of the Mesa de Otay internment point, Garduño Yáñez stressed that fellow citizens deserve respect for their person and the greatest recognition for their social, economic, and cultural contributions on both sides of the border.
He affirmed that the INM works day by day so that when a Mexican is returned to the national territory, he is provided with food and transportation to his entity of origin, as well as guidance and information on the routes provided by the Government of Mexico for his reintegration to life productive of the country.
The official recalled that the INM established a coordination agreement with the National Council for Standardization and Certification of Labor Skills (Conocer), which facilitates the social reintegration and economic reintegration of nationals repatriated from the United States.
He stressed that the agreement offers returning migrants the possibility of being evaluated to obtain a certificate of labor competencies.
