Mexico: AMLO suggests that the DEA investigate the manufacture of the file in the Cienfuegos case

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador suggested that the Drug Control Administration (DEA) carry out an internal investigation to clarify who made the file in the case of former Secretary of Defense Salvador Cienfuegos; since otherwise the credibility of the organism is put in doubt .

He said, I think that this body, that agency, should do an investigation inside and clarify who made this file, who gave the order to apply it, because credibility is at stake.

In the morning conference , the president recalled that the DEA was considered infallible, since it assisted journalists in Mexico in investigations with leaked information. Therefore, when the Attorney General's Office (FGR) decided not to prosecute Cienfuegos , doubts and questions arose.

He said, even our sympathizers, who trust us, doubted, because for years the criterion that outsiders were the incarnation of justice and those inside the incarnation of corruption, impunity and everything.

López Obrador acknowledged that the US authorities were not counting on the former official being released, nor that the government would release the file, he maintained that it was the correct decision. In addition, he explained that, until the falsification of the file is clarified, he will not come if the DEA calls him to respond for the dissemination of the documents .

He said, the file, it has been shown, was manufactured. This bothers them a lot, but it is reality. The truth will make us free. You have to ask them. It was like a scam from the members of that criminal organization from the lowest level to those at the top.

He indicated that the evidence is full of inconsistencies and even without substantiation, they were used to become judges of past governments in Mexico. In addition, he pointed out that the best investigators in the country analyzed the file together with the Prosecutor's Office.

He said, How is a file that was fabricated going to be kept, which first affects a Mexican, affects an institution, affects the prestige of the Mexican government, our country? That is not allowed to anyone , that was before, that they did whatever they wanted and sovereignty was violated, not now.
