Marranzini says that in the industrial sector there are 10,000 suspended employees
The president of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD), Celso Juan Marranzini, explained this Thursday that the number of employees suspended by companies has been reduced considerably as the economic reopening has progressed in the industrial sector. According to Marranzini's statements, there are only around 10,000 employees in that sector suspended and assigned to the Phase 1 social program, who according to the Labor Code would not be receiving the double salary.
Marranzini said that is what the Code establishes, it has been said that the way and the management that is going to be given to this condition is being sought but that is not something of the sector but something of the Ccode. They are things typical of the crisis but the solidarity side of businessmen is always there and something will be done.
The businessman spoke in these terms after participating in the signing of a cooperation agreement between President Luis Abinader and the United States that will allow access to two billion dollars, although initially one billion dollars will be invested.
