Leaders of Russia-Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a joint declaration on the development of Karabakh
On January 11, Russian President Putin launched the initiative to invite President Azerbazan - Ilham Aliev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashynian to the Kremlin in Moscow, Russia for talks on solving post-conflict issues in Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to the negotiation results, the 3 leaders signed a joint statement with solutions to restore economic, commercial and transport infrastructure, opening up prospects for long-term peace for this region.
At the beginning of the talks with President A Azerbaijanjzan Ilham Aliev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashynian in the Kremlin, the Russian leader gave a speech, noting that Russia attaches great importance to partners and good neighbor relations with Azerbaijan Armenia also thanked his colleagues for their positive evaluation of the Russian side's reconciliation efforts in the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Putin stated that the agreements reached in November 2020 are being consistently implemented and this creates the necessary prerequisites for a long-term and full-scale resolution of the Nagorno conflict. -Karabakh on the basis of the benefit of both the people of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The heads of the three countries then held talks behind closed doors that lasted for nearly four hours. Not only the three-way talks, the Russian leader also has bilateral meetings with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashynian.
Speaking after the end of the talks, Russian President V. Petin called this meeting extremely important and helpful, as the parties were able to come to an agreement and sign a joint statement on the development of love figure in the region, which means concrete steps to build economic ties and develop infrastructure projects.
President V.Putin stated, For this purpose a working group will be formed, headed by the deputy prime ministers of the three governments Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia. In the near future, they will form subgroups of experts working on specific plans for the development of transport infrastructure and the economy of the region. I am confident that the implementation of these agreements will benefit both Armenians and Azerbaijanis and, without a doubt, will benefit the whole region and also mean the interests of the Federation. Russian state.
According to the Joint Statement, the working group of the deputy prime ministers of the three countries will convene a meeting at the end of January and in March, a plan of joint practical actions will be announced.
The dismantling of economic ties in the South Caucasus, the opening of borders and resuming trade routes - the solution to three decades of unresolved problems is not far away. The new "transport configuration" could be: Azerbaijan via the Armenian territory received a rail connection with Nakhichevan and Turkey, and Armenia via the territory of Azerbaijan - with Russia and Iran.
Relations with Armenia for Russia are not only allies in the military and foreign policy areas but also in economics, so the prospect of resuming rail communications between the two countries across the territory of Azerbaijan will help the implementation of more commercial projects becomes more efficient.
Speaking at a bilateral meeting with Russian President V.Putin, Prime Minister of Armenia N. Pashinyan said, I hope that, in the context of all these events and I am sure that the relationship between Armenia and Russia will deepen, Russia has been and remains our main strategic ally in the field of security. The implementation of the agreements set out in our joint statement can seriously change the economic landscape of our region, and dramatically enhance investment potential and investment attractiveness.
For its part, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliev, also expressed his thanks to Russian President V. Petin, for his personal involvement in the prevention of hostile actions in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The leader of Azerbaijan believes that, when signing the 9/11 declaration on the ceasefire in the region, President V.Putin as leader of Russia, as a neighbor of both Armenia and Azerbaijan once again showed his will, determination and wisdom and this meeting on his initiative once again demonstrated how attentive he was to this matter.
At the meeting all three leaders agreed, the solution to the longstanding conflict in the South Caucasus could not only bring about lasting peace, but also bring the countries closer together with a common historical past. Leaders also realize that a meeting cannot solve all the problems, so there will be follow-up meetings.
