The Kyodo News Agency reported on the 30th that Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga could visit Korea only if an official from the Japanese Foreign Ministry promised that Korea would not sell the defendant's Japanese corporate assets in connection with the Japanese imperial mobilization lawsuit.
Reportedly, the executive expressed the recognition that Prime Minister Suga would not attend the Korea-China-Japan summit that South Korea is going to hold without the South Korean government's commitment to not monetize Japanese corporate assets seized by the Korean court.
He said, It makes no sense for the Prime Minister to visit Korea in a situation where it is not unusual even if (Japanese corporate assets) become cash.
The Korean government is promoting the holding of the Korea-China-Japan summit in Seoul within this year. Kyodo News Agency analyzed that the remarks made by an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were intended to draw concessions from the Korean government in relation to the Japanese imperial mobilization lawsuit.
Prime Minister Suga said in a telephone conference with President Moon Jae-in on the 24th, we should not leave the relationship between the two countries as it is, which is a very severe situation.
