Indonesia: employers must pay an extra $4,000 for hiring Indian helpers
The Indonesian government will implement new regulations on employment service fees in January next year. Some of the fees originally paid by Indian domestic helpers will be paid by employers, including the Indian domestic helpers’ overseas passports, good citizen certificates and Indonesian social security contributions.
Zhang Jiemin, chairman of the Hong Kong Employment Agents Association, stated on this channel that if employers hire experienced Indian domestic helpers from overseas, under the new regulations, they will need to pay an extra 4,000 yuan, or about 17,000 to 20,000 yuan.
As for whether it will discourage local employers in hiring Indian domestic helpers, Zhang Jiemin believes that the impact will not be significant because there is a certain demand for foreign domestic helpers. According to the new regulations, taking a two-year contract as an example, employers will only pay more than a hundred yuan per month. About 200 yuan
