Deputy V of the Presidential Staff Office, Jaleswari Pramodhawardani, said that the three-term presidential discourse had actually emerged since the reign of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) . He even suspects that there is a hidden agenda behind the re-emergence of the discourse of the three-term president.
The said in a written statement, the discourse is now being raised by several parties with hidden agendas, which in essence want to bring down the president. These parties wanted to disrupt political stability and the work of the government which was focused on handling the Covid-19 pandemic. These parties want to disrupt political stability and divert the concentration of the president's work in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic, economic recovery and other development work. This commitment has been affirmed by the President long ago. On December 2, 2019, the President emphasized that the idea of a three-term presidential term is an issue that was raised to slap the president's face, seek the president's face and plunge the president.
Jaleswari reiterated that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has no desire at all for a three-term presidential term. According to him, President Jokowi up to now still holds a commitment to Reform regarding the limitation of the two-term presidential term.
