India: People must be notified Kerala Government within one month of cancer detection
From now on, if cancer is detected, those concerned should inform the government within a month. A committee chaired by the Health Secretary was formed to prepare a cancer registry that included patient information.
To this end, it has been suggested that all institutions conducting cancer treatment and screening should pass on patient information to the government. Strict action will be taken against those who fall short. Cancer will now be included in the list of declared diseases. Currently declared diseases are tuberculosis, leprosy, AIDS, hepatitis, malaria, dengue and cholera.
Prevention activities will be intensified with special consideration given in the list. The registry will help you to find out exactly which parts of the body are most affected by cancer and the rate of spread. It is the responsibility of the doctor, pathologist and healthcare provider to report the diagnosis to the Department of Health. Government, private hospitals, AYUSH, ESI institutes, labs and palliative care centers must also share patient information.
