India: More than 200 hospitalized in Andhra Pradesh, one died
In Andhra Pradesh, India, more than two hundred patients have been admitted to hospital with an unknown disease. One of them died. The administration is investigating exactly why so many people are getting sick. The incident took place in Iluru town in West Godavari district of the state. 228 people have been taken to the hospital. They are residents of different parts of Iluru city. The symptoms are similar to those of epilepsy.
After initial treatment, 60 patients were released. Many are still receiving treatment. Most of the victims are elderly and children. A six-year-old boy has been sent to Vijayawada town as his condition is critical. The medical team visited Iluru town and collected blood samples from the victims. On examination everything was found to be normal.
Health Minister Alla Nani said 150 beds have been set up in Iluru and 50 in Vijayawada to deal with emergencies. Many are recovering after 10-15 minutes. None of the coronavirus tests were positive.
Again, nothing was caught in the CT scan. Not only that, Eight to eighty people are being affected. All patients are currently under observation. It is being investigated whether this unknown disease has spread from the water of the area. The deputy commissioner urged everyone to remain calm. According to him, it could be a viral infection.
