A Czech bus driver was released yesterday afternoon in Hungary and was detained at the Croatian-Hungarian border shortly after midnight on Sunday after an incident with a customs official. The delegate of the T Split tour travel agency, whose clients traveled by bus, informed ČTK about this. The Czech Embassy in Budapest confirmed this without further details.
According to delegate Kateřina Macourková, it is not yet clear whether the driver was accused of anything. She said that after the release, Hungarian police took the driver about 15 kilometers to the gas station. He does not have his mobile phone, it was confiscated from him. He bought a Hungarian card in a hurry so that he could contact us. According to her, the travel agency is deciding how to get the driver back to the republic.
The driver carried about 50 passengers on holiday in Croatia on Sunday night. He was detained at the border after an incident with customs while checking suitcases. According to the delegate, the driver and his wife were arguing for a while. Then the driver wanted to take a picture of the customs identification numbers and call the embassy. He managed to take a picture of one customs house in the booth turned around and wanted to look at the phone after which the other customs house grabbed his hand. Customs officers rushed at the driver, handcuffed him and took him away,The customs office grabbed the driver's hand and injured him reflexively.
