France continues to press for the formation of a Lebanese government within a reasonable time frame
Reuters quoted a French diplomatic source as saying that his country is continuing its pressure on Lebanese politicians to form a new government within a reasonable time frame.
The source pointed out that France did not set a new deadline after the expiration of an earlier date set in mid-September, but it gave politicians more time on condition that they work to meet a French demand to form a government of specialists (technocrats) indicating that it will leave politicians moving forward But within a reasonable time frame
French President Emmanuel Macron had received assurances from Lebanese politicians during his visit to Beirut after the explosion of his port last month, that an agreement had been reached to form a technocratic government within two weeks, which is something Lebanon has not seen for many years, as the process usually.
