The Lebanese Forces party headed by Samir Geagea denied the words attributed to its president about possessing 15,000 fighters and preparing to confront Hezbollah, which was published by the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar in its issue today.
The party media department said, we categorically deny all that Al-Akhbar newspaper reported in its issue today under the title Geagea to Jumblatt. I have 15,000 fighters and are ready to confront Hezbollah, indicating that there is a malicious attempt to demonize the Lebanese Forces and make them dirty by spreading malicious rumors and fabricating False news about armaments, fighting, confrontations and wars.
The Lebanese Al- Akhbar newspaper published an article in its issue issued today, Tuesday, in which it stated that Geagea told the President of the Progressive Socialist Party Walid Jumblatt during a banquet that they gathered at the house of Deputy Naama Tohme a few days ago, that he will continue the confrontation against Hezbollah until the end, adding: I have 15 thousand A fighter, and we are able to confront the party, which has become severely weak, as a result of the situation in Lebanon and in the region.
The newspaper added that when Jumblatt warned his interlocutor of the seriousness of what he was saying, Geagea responded by saying ,we are stronger today than we were in the days of Bashir Gemayel (founder of the Forces Party and the former President of the Republic), and Hezbollah is weaker than Abu Ammar Yasser Arafat.
