FBI chief: Russian interference in US election campaign strong again
Four years ago political Washington was shaken by broad-based interference from Russia in the White House election campaign. The head of the Federal Police FBI warns that this is also the case now. For this, Christopher Wray receives a reprimand from President Donald Trump..
According to FBI boss Christopher Wray, Russia is again massively interfering in the US presidential election campaign. It is specifically a matter of denigrating President Donald Trump's Democratic candidate, Joe Biden said Wray in a hearing in the US Congress on Thursday.
Wray said, we are seeing very, very active efforts by the Russians to influence our 2020 elections. They also tried to sow division and discord. According to the US secret services, this was also an approach of campaigns carried out by Russia before the presidential election in 2016. In the meantime, unlike back then, no direct attacks on the election infrastructure have been detected. The Russian government had always denied the allegations.
