Erdogan’s advisor compares the coalition’s role in Yemen to Turkey’s role in Libya, Syria

Yassin Aktay, an advisor to the President of Turkey considered that the Arab alliance in Yemen had only succeeded in deepening the crisis there, while Ankara had provided examples to be emulated in terms of establishing peace in a number of regions of the world.

In an article published in the Turkish newspaper Yeni Safak, Aktay rejected the criticisms accusing Turkey of interfering in the affairs of Arab countries pointing out that these critics themselves have not succeeded in solving a problem of the ten years old crises, rather they have complicated solving it and made it more difficult.

Aktay attacked the role of the Arab coalition saying that the coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE in Yemen has proven over the course of 5 years its inability to defeat the Houthis, adding that this does not of course mean that their inability stems from the power of the Houthis on the contrary,as the Houthis are Whatever their power they derive from Iran, they will not succeed in carrying out a coup against the Yemeni people.

According to Erdogan's advisor,"the main problem is that the coalition forces, while fighting the Houthis, are also pursuing an unreliable policy that weakens the other Yemeni parties as the priority of the coalition forces was never, one day, to bring peace or provide stability to the Yemeni people, rather, establishing a government and an administration that follows them and takes orders from them.

Erdogan's advisor went on to say, the only way to achieve stability in Yemen was to recognize all segments of the Yemeni people, and to open the way for an atmosphere of dialogue that would bring peace to all of those segments considering that it is not possible for a policy based on the use of one party without the other. To contribute to ensuring unity and stability in a country.

Aktay added that what made matters more complicated is that the two main partners of the coalition follow two contradictory policies in Yemen. When we look at the UAE, we find that it has never hesitated, when needed, to cooperate with the Houthis, whom the coalition is fighting.

According to the Turkish official viewing the Islah party, which is considered the most organized and legitimate at the level of all parties in Yemen as an enemy, then this means eliminating all segments of Yemen and bringing other people from abroad, in order for the peace process to succeed.

On the other hand, Aktay considered that "from the moment Turkey entered Libya on the side of the reconciliation government, the flow of the situation quickly turned from a civil war to a path towards peace and stability. And from a situation accustomed to destruction and demolition to an environment witnessing reconstruction and restructuring. The Libyan people, with all their parties and groups, are now discussing determining their own future.

And in Syria, according to Aktay, Turkey has succeeded in creating a safe environment for nearly 6 million Syrians who have not enjoyed any kind of safety for years after Turkey rushed to help them by establishing safe areas for them to seek refuge in.

He pointed out that Turkey has succeeded in establishing a lasting solution and peace in Karabakh, which has been under occupation for 28 years, but when Turkey entered the arena of conflict also at the invitation of the Azerbaijanis, the situation soon changed for the better. Now we find that the Armenians have started. To withdraw from those areas that they have occupied for years.

Aktay concluded by saying that if there is a real intention to achieve a solution and stability in Yemen, then following Turkey's experience in Syria, Libya, Somalia and Azerbaijan, saying that it would be very beneficial.

It is noteworthy that many international and regional parties have criticized Turkey's intervention in the crises in Libya, Syria and Karabakh, believing that Ankara has turned those areas into arenas to expand its influence and achieve its expansionist ambitions
