Cubans in the UK condemn the inclusion of Cuba on the terrorist list

Cubans in the UK, which groups together citizens of the Caribbean island residing in the United Kingdom, today condemned the inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries sponsors of terrorism drawn up by the United States. As the organization denounced on its website, the decision of the government led by President Donald Trump constitutes another legal stratagem to try to economically suffocate the Cuban people. It has not been enough for the Trump administration to impose more than 240 coercive actions to intensify the illegal and inhuman blockade against Cuba in his four years in office, especially during the (Covid-19) pandemic, he declared. Cubans in the UK recalled, in turn, that since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in January 1959, the Caribbean island is the one that has been the target of organized terrorist attacks, financed and executed from the United States. 'Cuba should be included in a list of countries that sponsor the right to life, to health, the organization claimed, which after highlighting the help that Cuban doctors provide to dozens of countries affected by Covid-19 also demanded the lifting of the unilateral blockade imposed by Washington against the Antillean nation and the cessation of aggressions. Last Monday, the outgoing Trump administration once again included the island in the list of nations that are supposedly sponsors of terrorism, which has been widely rejected by the international community. Cuba had been excluded from that group in 2015, during the process of bilateral rapprochement in the second term of Barack Obama's term (2009-2017).
