College did not match even after getting GPA-5

Despite getting GPA-5 in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination, 442 students of Chittagong did not get college for admission in XI. Officials of the Chittagong Board of Education say that while applying for admission, there is an opportunity to list the top 10 colleges in the preferred list, but these students have completed the application with 5-6.

Therefore, they did not get a place in the list of nominees in the first round of admission in the XI given on the night of August 25. However, the concerned students and parents are not disappointed about this, Professor Jahedul Haque, College Inspector of Chittagong Education Board.

He said students who did not get college in the first phase have the opportunity to re-apply in the second phase between August 31 and September 2. They do not have to pay the application fee while applying in the second phase. The previous application (in the first phase) has to be updated or corrected by changing the order of preference of the college, adding new college or excluding any college.

Professor Jahedul Haque said that although there was an opportunity to apply to a maximum of ten colleges, many students who got GPA-5 did not give more than 5-6 colleges of their choice. Their idea was to get GPA-5 and apply to 5-6 colleges. There is no need to do more.

'But in the colleges where they have applied, the number of applicants who got higher marks than them may have been higher. Due to which they did not get the opportunity to apply in those 5-6 colleges. But this problem would not have happened if the maximum number (10) had applied to the college. '

He added that overall, the number of applicants is less than the total number of seats in the colleges. Due to which there will be no seat crisis in Chittagong as a whole. Even if the desired college is not available, all the students will get the opportunity to get admission in the college. Those who were not nominated in the first list have a chance to be nominated in the next list.

According to the Inter-Education Board Coordination Sub-Committee, a total of 1 lakh 9 thousand 899 students have been finally selected for admission in the colleges of Chittagong in the first phase results published on the night of August 25. And 5 thousand 34 students did not get any college in the first list for admission. Among them, there are 442 students with the highest GPA-5.

As a result, the number of students applying for admission in the colleges of Chittagong stood at 1 lakh 14 thousand 733 people. However, a total of 1 lakh 23 thousand 923 students applied online for admission in colleges in Chittagong, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Sub-Committee had said earlier.

Education board officials say the total number of applicants is actually 1 lakh 23 thousand 923 people. Of these, 1 lakh 14 thousand 733 applicants have passed SSC from Chittagong Education Board. The remaining 9,090 applicants have passed SSC from technical, madrasa and other boards.

Those students who did not get a place in the first list will have to apply for the second phase from August 31 to September 2 at 8 pm. The results of the first migration and the results of the second application will be released on September 4 at 8 pm.

The selection of the students selected in the second phase will have to be confirmed on 5-6 September. Failure to confirm the selection within this period will result in rejection of the application. The results of the second migration and the results of the third phase of the application will be released on September 10.

The selection of the students selected in the third phase will have to be confirmed by 8 pm on September 11 and 12. Failure to confirm the selection within this period will result in rejection of the application. The final results of the college will be released on the night of September 13. And students have to be admitted to the college between 13 to 15 September.

Meanwhile, the nomination and application of the concerned students will be canceled if the admission is not confirmed even after being nominated in the first merit list, said College Inspector Prof Jahedul Haque.

He said the nominees in the first list must complete the initial confirmation of admission by August 30 with a registration fee of Rs 200. Otherwise his nomination and application will be rejected. Then those students will have to re-apply. They will have to pay the application fee again.
