Chile: The referendum repeals the dictatorship Preparing to elect new draft people 100%

The people of Chileans voted an overwhelming 78.24% to repeal the current constitution in force. Written about 40 years ago during the military dictatorship led by General Augusto Pinochet. Chileans also agreed that the new constitution must be 100% elected, allowing members of the House of Representatives (MPs) and senators (senators) to participate in the draft. As for the voting results Many people came out to celebrate on the streets of Santiago and in many cities across the country.
Chilean President Sebastian Piñera said he acknowledged the victory of those who wanted to bring about reform. But also warned that this is just the beginning of a long process.
He said, from today onwards we must work together to make the new constitution a sound structure that will bring about unity, stability and a brighter future.
