Bangladesh: Training aircraft crashed in Rajshahi

A training plane crashed at Lalpur ground in Tanore upazila of Rajshahi. The accident took place around 2.30pm on Tuesday (March 16), according to the Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R) Airport Authority in Rajshahi.
The training aircraft that crashed was owned by Bangladesh Flying Academy. Upon receiving the news, the police and fire service personnel rushed to the spot and carried out the rescue operation.
Dilara Parveen, manager of Rajshahi airport said, the plane belonged to Bangladesh Flying Academy. Such aircraft are primarily used for training.
Witnesses said locals fled when a training plane crashed at Lalpur ground in the upazila around 2.30pm. There they rescued the two.
They added that there were two people on the plane. One of them is Mahfuzar Rahman, the instructor of Bangladesh Flying Academy. He suffered a minor head injury. The other is trainee Nahid. He is unharmed.
Meanwhile, a helicopter from Dhaka came to Lalpur ground after receiving the news of the accident. But as there were no casualties, the plane flew back to Dhaka after 10 minutes.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Tanore Police Station Rakibul Hasan confirmed the matter. However, no major accident has taken place.
Earlier, on April 1, 2015, a training aircraft crashed in Rajshahi. The trainee Tamanna Rahman (22) was burnt to death inside the plane. Later the trainer Lt. Colonel Saeed Kamal died while undergoing treatment.
