Austrian Airlines (AUA) is gradually increasing its flight schedule
After a short peak in the flight schedule during the Christmas holidays and up to 15 percent flight availability in January and February, Austrian Airlines plans to continuously increase the flight schedule until summer. More than 20 destinations will be resumed for the summer flight schedule, including: Barcelona, Dubrovnik, Florence, Gothenburg, Košice, Krakow, Lviv, Odessa and Oslo - Amman, Bangkok, Chicago and Tokyo are back on the intercontinental route network. In the height of summer, the Austrian home carrier expects increased demand for vacation travel and is therefore increasingly focusing on tourist destinations.
Up to 150 flights per week to holiday destinations in summer
The main focus is still on Greece and Cyprus, but Italy, Spain and Turkey are also hopes for the summer of 2021. For example, there are up to 10 flights a week to Heraklion (Crete ) or 16 times to Larnaka (Cyprus) - and the popular holiday destinations Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Rhodes, Mykonos, Kos, Catania and the Canary Islands are also on the program with increased frequency.
Austrian Airlines CCO Michael Trestl said, we expect increased demand in the tourist sector in the summer and are therefore increasing our range of holiday destinations by up to 20 percent from July. The booking phase for the 2021 holiday season is currently starting. With our extended flight schedule, we want to create an attractive holiday offer for all Austrians. Of course, the further development is strongly dependent on the progress of the pandemic and the associated travel guidelines.
New route in the summer
Flight schedule : Hanover For the first time since 2009, Austrian Airlines will be flying to Hanover again in the summer flight schedule 2021 Initially, the route that was previously served by Eurowings is on the program twice a week, and the frequency will be increased continuously until summer. From July, two connections will be offered daily. With the addition of the route, Austrian is expanding its route network in Germany. Thanks to the connection to the hub in Vienna, travelers from the Hanover catchment area benefit from numerous transfer options to Central and Southeastern Europe and the Middle East. The new destination can now be booked with the first flight taking place on March 25th.
On the Austrian Airlines website passengers can find information on the topics of travel in times of Covid-19, the obligation to wear a mask, country-specific travel regulations and flexible rebooking regulations. The information is updated continuously.
