Problems with the operation of the websites of the State Duma, the Kremlin, the Russian government, Roskomnadzor, the Investigative Committee and other authorities are connected with the failure of routers in the network of the largest Internet provider Rostelecom, the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation said.

In Russia, after the initial slowdown of the microblogging service Twitter, official websites of the State Duma, the Kremlin, the Russian government, Roskomnadzor, the Investigative Committee and other authorities stopped opening or began to malfunction, Radio Liberty reported .

The Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation informed RIA Novosti that the problems are related to the failure of routers in the network of the largest Internet provider Rostelecom.

According to data from the Downdetector website, Rostelecom subscribers started reporting outages after 10:00, the peak of the provider's downfall was at 11.28.

This morning Roskomnadzor reported that Twitter is slowing down by 100% of mobile devices and 50% of stationary devices. The department applied the law that came into force on February 1. According to the law, the owner of a social network is obliged to independently block inappropriate content within 24 hours. If it is impossible to do this, the owner of the social network must notify Roskomnadzor , which makes the decision to block it.

Roskomnadzor explained its decision by the need to force the social network to comply with the legislation of the Russian Federation. The department is unhappy with the fact that Twitter did not remove more than 3 thousand publications with calls for suicide among teenagers, child pornography and information about drug use.

The ministry said the disruptions were not related to "technical measures" that are being carried out by Roskomnadzor in connection with the slowdown of Twitter.

At the time of the release of the note, the websites of the State Duma , the Kremlin , the government of the Russian Federation and Roskomnadzor resumed their work, and the website of the Investigative Committee does not open .
