Afghanistan: TV presenter was shot dead

A television presenter and her driver were shot dead on Thursday morning, December 10, in Jalalabad (east), an official source has learned, which constitutes the third murder of a journalist in Afghanistan since the beginning of November 2020 according to the AFP. On November 12, Aliyas Dayee, 33, who worked for Radio Liberty, a media outlet funded by the United States died in a bomb explosion placed under his car in Lashkar Gah (south). He had been threatened by the Taliban who criticized him for covering up their operations, Human Rights Watch (HRW) reported. On November 7, Yama Siawash, a former TV presenter, was also killed in Kabul in the same circumstances.
